Checklist for Getting a New Roof

A new roof is a major investment in your home. Without one, leaks can compromise the structure. You want to be sure that you hire the best roofer for the job. Here is a checklist you can use when searching for the best Oklahoma City roofers.

Have an Open Mind: You might be convinced that you want three-tab shingles. However, after listening to the information on architectural shingles, you Listen to the contractors to see what other options are available and have an open mind about them.

Time Frame: Good roofers have good crews and you should not have to wait more than a week to get your roof once insurance is taken care of. Dont pay for a new roof on your own in Oklahoma most roofs are paid by insurance as we have hailstorms all the time.

Covering Leaks: It’s not abnormal for a professional roofing company to have a wait of a few weeks before they can actually fix your roof. However, many *experienced roofers will be happy to come out and at least cover the problem area with a tarp to prevent any more water from entering the structure. A reputable company will take the cost of this temporary repair off the cost of your new roofing job, allowing you to get the roof secured, keep your home dry, Even if you do not have an insurance claim on your roof we will do what we can to fix your roof for free. Call any other roofing company and see if they fix roofs for free. see what they say???

Manufacturer Warranty: Ask about the warranty. Many shingles offer warranties of 15, 20 or even Lifetime. More than simply the warranty itself, you should ask about the fine print of the warranty. Many companies will only cover a roof if it is installed by a “qualified roofer” or an “authorized roofer.” Find out what qualifications the Oklahoma City contractors have and if they are authorized by the manufacturer to install the roof. This means if the roofing company paid off the manufacturer to be certified or master Elite. These guys are no different then any other roofing company. They just pay to have the logo on their website.

Company Warranty: Any company worth hiring will also offer their own warranty on labor. This will typically be for a much shorter period of time, typically only two years. A manufacturer’s warranty is great, but you also must choose a roofer that will offer you some warranty on their own labor and installation. we can do up to 20 years on some warranties

The final question to ask when going down your checklist is how long the company has been in business. A warranty is useless if the company goes out of business in two years. Also ask how many warranty claims the have had. and have them document it it. It will tell you if their crews are sloppy and miss things and have customers with leaks.

A REVIEW FROM FACEBOOK

It's nice to have a roof!
by Jay DeBell on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 7:41pm
So I noticed some water leaking in our master bedroom, touched the spot on the ceiling to see how wet it was and immediately made a nice e hole in the sheet rock. Now, I am no professional, but I said to my self, "Hmmm ... methinks I have a leak!" I called my friend Brett Rostochill, owner of Allstate Roofing Experts in Oklahoma City. Brett came out while I was at work, talked with my wife and found and quickly fixed the problem. While he was there he noticed we had hail damage from this past hailstorms this year. I called my insruance agent and they sent an appraiser/adjsuter out to inspect the roof. Again I was at work and Brett came over and met the adjsuter and was able to get us approved for a brand new roof. Brett has shown a great deal of character, integrity and willingness to go the extra mile to deliver fast, professional service. He was polite and courteous to my wife, thorough with the inspector and fought to get the approval needed. Not only is the roof going to be replaced, but it is going to be a better quality roof with a 30 year warranty. Would I recommend Brett? Whole-heartedly and without reservation! The approval was Friday and he says the job will be done on Wednesday! That's fantastic turn-around. I always hate having to use time off work to handle something - and it felt good to know I did not have to take the time off because a contractor was trustworthy and looking to take care of the problem. If you haven't had your roof inspected - epecially if you fear you may have hail damage, give Brett a call!

We can make it brand new...........
Low-slope or flat roof systems
Sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) roofs, widely used in south and west for their proven energy savings, have been applied around the country since the 1960s and many are still in services in parts of the country today. A "Smarter" roof SPF roofs have a proven history of high performance, not equaled by any other roofs.

10 Advantages of Spray Polyurethane Foam
1. Versatile: Polyurethane foam can be applied seamlessly to surfaces with irregular shapes and penetrations. Applications include tanks, pipes, cold storage rooms and flotation devices. Especially suited for roofing, as multiple applications can be made over the existing roof, eliminating the need for costly tear-off of the old roof.

2. Stops Leaks and Weather Resistant: Polyurethane foams form monolithic, self-flashing surfaces which effectively  seal against leaks. Further protection is achieved from the weather resistant, elastomeric coating applied over the foam. The foam can be sprayed with slope drains, facilitating water removal.

3. Adheres to Most Surfaces: A seamless layer of foam is fully adhered to the substrate -- horizontal or vertical -- withstanding high wind stresses. So unlike other roof types that may suffer extreme damage from rough weather, foam roofs have a reputation for withstanding. Even FEMA calls polyurethane foam roofs, Class 4, flood-resistant material.

4. Reduces and Simplifies Roof Maintenance: The applied polyurethane foam system usually requires no maintenance. If damaged, in most cases, caulking is sufficient for repair.

5. Provides Superior Insulating Efficiency: Polyurethane foam is the most efficient form of thermal insulation available. The systems pay for itself in two to six years in energy savings alone and reduces utility bills up to 50%. Energy Star Rated.

6. Reduces Building Movement: By placing the insulation on the outside, the foam system reduces building movement and thermal shock.

7. Lightweight: Complete polyurethane foam systems are typically generally lighter than tar and gravel roof systems. When applied to an existing roof, the loose ballast removed usually weighs more than the replacement foam system. This results in a new roof that's lighter than the original.

8. UL Listed: Spray foams incorporated into our systems are listed under UL 790 and UL 723. UL 790 roofing systems are listed Class A over non-combustible decks and Class B over combustible decks.

9. Asbestos and Formaldehyde Free: Our foams contain absolutely NO asbestos or formaldehyde.

10. Proven Roofing and Insulation System: SPF systems have been applied successfully for over 30 years.
