Today at Lifechurch.TV, they talked about giving/tithing. Now I know alot of people that are givers and then there are the takers. for some reason I felt compelled to take every bit of cash out of my wallet $77.00 and put into the plate. I say this not to brag or make someone else feel compelled to give.
I say this to express my desire for the world to be more of a giving society rather than takers. My family has been blessed over the years, my wife and I had successful careers and then laid off with in weeks of each other after being with Hertz and the Hartford, for 20 and 14 years. Loyal employees that gave there all to these companies and then tossed away, with out a thank you, but a severance package. While my wife was off work for 8 months, she volunteered for many organizations and soon found a new job which payed her double her previous salary and I found the same thing 3 months later. Luck you may say, or rewards form our higher power.
For those people that say they cannot find a job I say volunteer do something anything to help someone out. I shave seen people that have nothing give.
I urge people to try and give back more and see what happens. That's what I do in my company. I give more than I take, and I always get more in return. On some jobs that I have when a roof is over $20,000. I see people who live in a zone in Oklahoma city that has had tornadoes roll through. I give them a storm shelter out of my profits knowing that they will be safe if that area gets hit again. I have 2 jobs going know in Moore, Ok that I am doing that on. Because its the right thing to do. I look at the CEO's of all these big corporations or big companies that take huge salaries for themselves and don't give back.
I am going to make a challenge to every Roofing company in Oklahoma,.to do what I do. Lets see who steps up to the plate. I hope many will. I hope the companies that put in storm shelters will cut some profits in order to help out some of these people, to be safe. Especially families with kids. I would hate myself, if I took $2500 and lined my pocket on a job, and that house and family were killed when a tornado hit that house sometime later, knowing I could have done something.
People who are on a fixed income that cannot afford to fix something in their house. I urge businesses to step up and do things they normally would charge for, and just fix it for them for free. Why do some companies that are financially secure not help those in need more.
I hope the takers in this world would switch teams. and realize people should help people and not take advantage of others. Can you even imagine a world like that? There was this man who said "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
Give of your self don't be a taker. Be a giver the rewards are amazing.
Just my thoughts
Brett
